Gothic Art - Stained Glass.

For art history class we are to write a paper on a period of art, a specific piece of art. I am still in the thought process of what I'd like to write about, but leaning towards the period of Gothic art specifically Stained Glass. Possibly pin-pointing a specific cathedral or piece.
We had to choose from Byzantine to Renaissance. Here are a few images that caught my eye.

Part II - Egg Drop test.

Tuesday November 9th we tested our pieces, and I learned that the egg would bounce right out of the middle and splatter on the the ground. So there were some modifications that needed to be made.
Today was the final, and I'm proud to say IT WORKED and I got 100%. I really enjoyed working with metal, and look forward to using it again. Here is a picture after modification, I took away the mesh basket and added a plastic container filled with foam coushining and placed it in a larger hose clamp, adjusted the rubber bands. I also added two pieces of thin plastic cut into streamers and tied in a knot at the top. This allowed the sphere to stay "upright" rather than spinning in the air as it dropped.  All of the other students in my design class are art majors - and we're all pretty much used to 2D art. This felt a little "Myth Busters" to us, but it taught me to use the design pyramid and got me more comfortable with metal rather than always using my camera or a paint brush.
Ryan took video of my drop, so I'll have to upload that somehow on youtube.
I start my next and final project for the semester next Tuesday November 16th.
