It was one year ago this month I was diagnosed with POF (premature ovarian failure) due to a high FSH (Follical stimulating Hormone) hormone level. the diagnosis left us, scared, sad, angry, confused. Words cannot describe the emotions I've felt this year. I am so in love & thankful for Ryan, his strength, understanding, patience and optimism through this trying part in our marriage and our lives. I also thank my parents who are a phone call away and a shoulder to cry on. Their late night talks and "Sweetheart, it will be okay", there were times I didn't think I could get through the day without their support. My loving sister Lindsay, who came to visit last Christmas and attended Dr. appointments and researched information about becoming a donor, thank you for your interest and your courage to inquire. I love you & thank you for your late night phone calls. When the day comes you're going to be the best Auntie!
To the Hanson's.. Aisha & Kelly, you took us in when we arrived in Alaska and were there for us when we needed a hug, a home cooked dinner and a ear to listen. Thank you for your advice, listening and most of all your friendship.
We continue to struggle through this condition with no coverage from insurance. Can you believe there are only a handful of plans that offer infertility coverage. Doctors & specialists have prescribed many hormone meds and acupuncture. I continue with checkups, blood tests and ultrasounds...to help manage, but there is no cure.
Our options are :IVF ( InVitro Fertilization), Adoption and of coarse we continue to pray that one day it will happen naturally for us and we will be blessed with our own child.
At this point my goal is to live a healthy life, stay positive, we strive to enjoy every day. For now we're planning on enjoying each other, exploring what Alaska has to offer, and loving our new puppy Lola and NEVER giving up hope.
We ask for your understanding, prayers and love.
