not so fresh produce.

Alaska's produce is ridiculously exspensive. The only time we can get fresh produce is in the summer months, and even that is slim. I swear I can spend just $100 in the produce section, and I think I did our first few months up here. Most of the time Ryan and I don't really look at the prices of produce, because there is really no point. If we want it, we pay the price. Not really a choice. I really wanted some tomatoes for our salads-but after seeing the price below....I just couldn't do it. I chose to get a few Roma tomatoes for 1.99 lb.
I can't wait until we move back down to the lower 48, and we grow a huge garden and I will never have to pay almost $4 lb for anything!

PS: Mom & Dad Meline- if ever you want to send us up a box of fresh veggies from your garden, we would loooooove it :) it would be a lot fresher than buying at our local store, that's for sure!
